ACE Schools Programme
We run a schools programme to provide free cricket sessions to local state schools focusing on students in school years 5 through to 8. Through these sessions, we can give a basic introduction of cricket to pupils and work on skill development building into mini game environments to put their skills to the test. In many cases these sessions are the first time players are exposed to the game of cricket so is a great opportunity to provide something new and exciting to school pupils.
The aim of our sessions are to engage pupils through fast paced, skills games where our coaches can monitor player development and provide appropriate feedback, advice and guidance.
We want children to play sport competitively, but in the right spirit and we strongly believe that cricket is ideal to teaching young people respect for their teammates, the opposition and officials.
Through this programme, we work to provide interschool competitions towards the end of school terms for some friendly competition between schools where they can have put and put everything they have learnt into practice.
We are also able to filter players into our local community hubs as well as established clubs for more sessions and coaching opportunities. By observing players in their school sessions we can also filter talented players into The Academy for those we believe would be able to thrive and real their full potential in that environment.
We currently have a School Programmes operating in London, Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield and Manchester.
