Michael Holding
West Indies Cricket Legend
Michael was part of the all-conquering West Indies Test team of 1970s and 80s and one of the fastest bowlers in the history of the game. During his playing days he was nicknamed ‘The Whispering Death’ thanks to his quiet approach to the crease and his lightning quick bowling.
Jamaican-born Holding often saved his best for tours of England and it was at The Oval in 1976, in front of thousands of West Indies supporters living in South London, that he broke the record for the best bowling figures in a Test match by a West Indies bowler, 14 wickets for 149 runs.
Now Michael works alongside our Chair Ebony-Jewel Rainford-Brent, commentating on international cricket for Sky Sports. In July 2020, both Michael and Ebony relayed their experiences of racism on a highly acclaimed short film for Sky in response to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Sir Trevor McDonald
Journalist and Broadcaster
The face of television news and current affairs for generations of people in the UK, Sir Trevor McDonald has been on our screens since 1973. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Sir Trevor moved to London to work for the BBC but it is with ITV that he is synonymous.
His career has seen him present flagship programmes News at Ten & Tonight with Trevor McDonald before a move into documentary filmmaking later in his career. Alongside a host of industry awards in broadcasting, he was knighted in 1999 for his services to journalism.
A lifelong cricket fan and a champion of the game in England & the Caribbean, Sir Trevor was President of Surrey County Cricket Club in 2013 & 2014.
He has also written biographies on West Indian cricket legends Viv Richards & Clive Lloyd. Earlier this year he lent his voice to a one-off video celebrating Surrey’s 175th anniversary.
Denise Lewis OBE
Olympic Gold Medalist
An Olympic, Commonwealth & European gold medal winning heptathlete, Denise is now a television pundit on major athletics events including the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Born in West Bromwich to Jamaican parents, Denise became Olympic Champion in Sydney in 2000, an achievement that saw her named Sportswoman of the Year by the Sports Journalists’ Association & Sunday Times. She was won both accolades a record three times each and received her OBE in the 2001 New Year Honours.
As well as her ongoing pundit work, Denise has featured in a number of TV shows including the 2004 edition of Strictly Come Dancing, where she finished as runner-up.
Roland Butcher
England Cricketer
The first Black cricketer to represent England, Butcher played three Test matches and three ODIs in 1980 & 1981 in the middle of a 16-year career with Middlesex.
Having grown up playing cricket in Barbados and with the ambition to play for West Indies, Roland moved to the UK at the age of 13 and eventually accepted the call up to play for England another 13 years later.
An attacking middle order batsman, Butcher’s Test appearances came in the Caribbean against the great West Indies side of that time including a match in his native Barbados.
After blazing the trail for the likes of fellow Barbadian Jofra Archer to wear the Three Lions, Roland has since set up a high performance sports programme at the University of West Indies, written a coaching manual aimed at developing young players in the Caribbean and gained a UEFA B qualification in football coaching.
Andrew Lane - Trustee
Director of Finance at Surrey County Cricket Club and The Kia Oval, Lane oversees all budgets and the long-term financial health of the Club.
As a Trustee of ACE, Lane will offer his knowledge and expertise in finance to ensure our charity remains sustainable into the future.
Callum Doyle - Charity Secretary
As Club Administrative Manager at Surrey County Cricket Club, Doyle ensures the smooth running of day-to-day tasks and acts as the first point of contact for the Club’s Chairman & Chief Executive.
Doyle will fulfil the role of Charity Secretary for ACE, managing relevant correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
Roland Ilube - Finance Vice President
Trustee
Roland has worked in the Shell Group for over 26 years. Prior to joining Shell, he qualified and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 1995. With effect from 1st August 2021, he will take on the role of Senior Vice President Finance for Shell’s Global Mobility Business.
He has been an Executive Sponsor of the Shell African & Caribbean Network since 2012 and has been a member of the Business in the Community Race Leadership Team since 2017. He also sits on Shell’s Global D&I Council for Race.
Roland has been an avid player, watcher and follower of cricket since the age of 10. He represented the London School of Economics as an undergraduate and has played league cricket for Sheen Park CC since 1986. In 1991 he co-founded the London Nigerian Cricket Club (LNCC), was a member of the Nigeria Men’s Senior Cricket team from 2004-2006 and was part of the Nigeria Men’s Cricket team Selection Committee from 2009-2014. He was also Technical Advisor to the Executive Committee of the Lagos Cricket League from 2009-2019.
In June 2021, Roland was awarded an OBE for services to Diversity and Inclusion.
Andrien Meyers - Aldgate Councilman

Andrien is a Finance, Accounting (FCCA), Investment (MCSI) and Management (MILM) professional and is currently the Chair of the City of London’s £4.2bn Property Investment Board along with Co-Chairing the City’s Tackling Racism Task Force. Andrien is also Head of Pension Investments in Local Government and was previously providing investment advice to the Minister of Local Government (now our current Chancellor). Further he provides strategic business advice and sits as a non-exec on a number of Investment firms.
He spends time mentoring students who have a keen interest in finance and investments. He is a multi award winner, the FTs 40 under 40 for investments and being granted the Freedom to the Cities of London and Glasgow are just a few to note.
Julia Regis - Business Consultant

Julia Regis has over 26-years experience of assisting individuals and teams to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential. She started her career in the public sector before moving into the world of consulting 20 years ago.
She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development, is CIPD qualified, a trained Investor in People Assessor, ILS certified Enneagram Coach, Belbin Facilitator; and is an accredited assessor and internal verifier for NVQ awards; and is also an authorised partner of The Five Behaviours - a development model which empowers teams to become high performing teams.
Julia has also held a number of non-executive director roles over the years. She is currently Chair of the Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust, an Ambassador and Trustee for Smart Works Birmingham, a charity that supports women to get back into employment through personalised styling and coaching.
Musfique Ahmed - Equity Partner

Born in 1982 in Rural Bangladesh, Musfique moved to London at the age of 10-year-old. After gaining a having gained a first class in computer engineering from City University, London, he is currently an equity Partner at EY operating as a management consultant and Board level advisor with 17 years of experience. Along the way, Musfique co-founded an award winning regulated FinTech start-up in the Middle East called Smart Crowd to make real estate investing assessable and affordable.
He was introduced to cricket through a local coach, Colin Marriott, was an icon of the west Indian cricket community in South London. During his time playing cricket, he was helped with kit, facilities and coaching as well as life lesson that have shaped who he is today.
Alan Smith - Senior Advisor (ESG Risk & Inclusion)

Originally from the Caribbean, Alan has worked with HSBC for 26 years in a variety of senior finance, risk and capital management roles. Prior to HSBC, Alan worked with KPMG in London. Alan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
He has been actively involved in cricket for many years. He represented Barbados for four years on the U19 team, played for the UAU Combined British Universities and is a playing member of the MCC and Cross Arrows. Alan was honorary treasurer to the West Indies Test Cricket Team on their 1995 UK tour and was treasurer/trustee of the London Cricket College for a year. He was a member of 'The Cricket World Cup 2007 - Legacy Barbados' committee and is currently president of the HSBC Cricket Club.
Alan, who has written a number of articles on the game, is currently an ECB UKCC Level 3 Coach and oversees the coaching of his local development team in Middlesex.
Alex Tudor
Former England and Surrey Cricketer
A tall and fast bowler born in London to Barbadian parents, Tudor was a pillar of the Surrey team that won three County Championship titles in four seasons between 1999 and 2002.
His excellent form in 1998 earned him his first Test call up for an Ashes tour in Australia where his wickets included legendary batsmen Steve Waugh & Ricky Ponting.
Injuries restricted him to 13 international matches but he did continue to play at county level until 2009.
Now Tudor’s working life is centred around helping the next generation, coaching and teaching pupils in a number of different sports.
Sophia Dunkley
England, South East Stars and Surrey
Born in Lambeth, the same borough of London that The Kia Oval has been in since 1845, Dunkley is already an international all-rounder at just 22.
Having started her cricket career at Middlesex, Dunkley first caught the eye of national selectors after helping Surrey Stars to the 2018 Kia Super League title.
A middle-order batter and leg-spinner, Dunkley has since become a regular in England’s T20I side, playing six of the seven matches in the run to the 2018 World Cup final.
Now at Surrey & South East Stars, the cricketing world waits to see how Dunkley’s career progresses from here.
Mark Butcher
Former Surrey and England Cricketer
After growing up at The Kia Oval watching his dad play for Surrey, Croydon-born Butcher became one of England’s finest batsmen during a seven-year international career that started in 1997.
The left-hander’s Test career spanned 71 matches with eight centuries including a 173 not out in an Ashes victory over Australia at Headingley in 2001. After ending his England career in 2004, he captained Surrey until his retirement in 2009.
Now Butch is a highly respected commentator on domestic and international cricket as well as writing and recording his own music. His latest album ‘Now Playing’ was released in 2019.
Jofra Archer
England, Sussex and Rajasthan Royals
Having played for West Indies Under-19s three times, Barbadian born Archer moved to England in 2015 with the drive to play for the England team and subsequently became a breakthrough star. Making his first- class debut for Sussex in July 2016, he then went on to make his List A debut later the same month.
Having only taken a couple of performances to convince England of his ability, he has rapidly become an exciting player, gone on to have a stand out career and made his mark in his domestic and international career.
Chris Jordan
Surrey, Punjab Kings, Karachi Kings and Perth Scorchers
After gaining a sporting scholarship, Chris moved to England from Barbados to complete his formal education at Dulwich College.
Upon making his debut for Surrey, Jordan quickly showcased his talent and went on to receive the NBC Denis Compton Award as their most promising young player. After returning to Barbados and playing for the national cricket team, Jordan joined Sussex in 2013, taking championship best figures on debut against Yorkshire.
Having qualified to play for both the West Indies and England Chris chose to play for England making hi ODI debut in 2013 taking a five-wicket haul helping England to win.
With his brilliant form and athleticism, Chris Jordan has thrown himself into the sport and become a stand out name.
